What Makes It Deep
The phrase "deep clean" is used so loosely in this industry that it has stopped meaning much. Here is what it means on our checklist, stated as a difference rather than a feeling.
A deep clean runs the same five phases as a recurring clean and adds four things:
- Interior windowpanes in every room, not just the sills and blinds
- Baseboards hand-detailed in living areas and bedrooms, not only in the kitchen
- Hood vents over the stove, which collect grease film that a wipe-down never touches
- Longer on every dusting item, because the reservoirs are the point
That last one is the real difference. On a regular visit a cleaner dusts what is visible. On a deep clean they go after the places dust actually lives: the tops of cabinets and door frames, fan blades, the ribs of AC vents, closet shelves, behind and under things on open shelving. Those are the reservoirs, and until they are emptied the same room keeps getting dusty three days after it was cleaned.
When a deep clean is the right booking
Before you start a recurring schedule. If nobody has cleaned professionally in six months or more, a standard visit spends its whole time on the backlog and never reaches the maintenance list. Start here, then hold it.
After a closed-up season. A house shut for a Florida summer is not a normal house. Dust film on everything, stale air, and mildew starting in grout and on screens.
Before or after people stay. Guests arriving, family visiting, a house going on the market.
Once or twice a year regardless. Even on a good recurring rhythm, the reservoirs refill.
What a deep clean is not
It does not include the inside of the fridge, the inside of your cabinets, or tile and grout restoration. Those live on the move-out checklist, because that is the job where an empty house makes them reachable and an inspection makes them necessary.

Before You Book One
A deep clean is a long visit — often most of a day on a house where a regular clean takes three hours. Two things make the difference between one that lands and one that disappoints.
The first is clearing surfaces. Every minute a cleaner spends moving your things is a minute not spent cleaning under them. The second is timing it after the disruption, not before.
- Clear countertops, dressers and open shelving beforehand if you can — it buys real time
- Book it after any building work or a move, never before; trades bring the dust back
- Within reach still applies — no ladders, so flag high ceilings or stairwells at booking
- Furniture is still not moved; ask us to quote it if you want under a bed or sofa
- Inside the fridge, inside cabinets and grout restoration are move-out items, not deep-clean ones
- Grout that has grayed over years has a limit, and we will tell you where it is rather than charge twice
- A deep clean does not fix a recurring dust problem caused by a dirty AC filter
